Production without a system is expensive chaos.

Most brands run their factory on WhatsApp threads and memory. Here’s what that actually costs.

Production starts too late

Runs begin only after stock is already low, because nobody knows when it’s running out. By the time the factory starts cutting, your bestseller has already gone dark on Shopify — and the ad spend driving traffic to it is wasted.

Materials ordered twice — or not at all

Without a shared system, purchasing is duplicated, missed, or stuck in someone’s inbox. You pay for fabric you already had, then halt a 200-piece run for buttons nobody ordered.

Nobody knows what’s stuck

Which work orders are done? Which are waiting on fabric? The answer lives in someone’s head — and when that person is on leave, the whole factory runs blind.

How it works

From demand signal to finished run — automatically.

Honey Shelf doesn’t wait for a stockout. It watches real demand and starts the paperwork for you.

1

Velocity watches every product

The engine tracks daily sales per SKU, excludes out-of-stock days from the math, and counts down the days to stockout — live, for every variant.

2

A signal becomes a plan

When days-remaining crosses your reorder threshold, Honey Shelf drafts the production order — quantity recommended from real demand — and explodes the BOM into a material list.

3

Every stage is tracked

Material POs, goods receipts, work orders, and QC gates move through the six stages with a full audit trail. Anyone on the team can see exactly where a run stands.

4

Finished goods flow back

Completed runs release straight to Shopify inventory, per size and variant. The loop closes itself — and velocity keeps watching for the next signal.

Inside the pipeline

Six stages. One source of truth.

Watch a demand signal become 200 finished kurtas — without a single WhatsApp message.

1

Check Stock

Live velocity flags every product approaching its reorder point.

2

Production Orders

Draft a run in one click — quantities recommended from real demand.

3

Buy Materials

BOM shortfalls become supplier-ready purchase orders automatically.

4

Receive Goods

Check materials in against the PO. Stock updates instantly.

5

Produce

Track work orders step by step, with QC gates before completion.

6

Release to Store

Finished goods sync to Shopify — per size, per variant.

How a signal becomes a run.

It starts with a number. Velocity flags the Classic White Kurta at 8 days of stock. You open the pre-drafted production order — 200 units, calculated from corrected demand — and approve it. The BOM says you’re 114 metres short on cotton, so a purchase order for your fabric supplier is already drafted and waiting.

Fabric arrives and gets checked in against the PO. The work order moves through cutting, stitching, and finishing, with a QC gate blocking completion until quality passes. The moment the run clears QC, 200 kurtas release to Shopify — every size, sellable instantly. No handoff dropped. No step skipped. Every action logged.

  • One board, whole team — ops, purchasing, and the factory see the same live status
  • Nothing moves without a record — every approval, receipt, and QC result is logged
  • Blockers surface instantly — a late PO or failed QC shows up the moment it happens

Everything the pipeline handles for you.

Six capabilities that replace the spreadsheet, the WhatsApp group, and the weekly status meeting.

Live stage view

Every run, every stage, every blocker on one board. The whole team works from the same truth — no status meetings required.

One-click production orders

Draft a run in seconds. Quantities are pre-calculated from corrected velocity, so you make what will sell — not what feels right.

Automatic material POs

Every BOM shortfall becomes a supplier-ready purchase order, grouped per supplier. Nothing ordered twice. Nothing forgotten.

Goods receiving

Check deliveries in against the PO. Quantities verified, discrepancies flagged, material stock updated the moment goods hit the dock.

Work orders with QC gates

Track every run step by step. QC gates block completion until quality passes — a bad batch never reaches your store.

Shopify release

Finished goods push straight to Shopify inventory, per size and variant. Sellable the moment they pass QC.

A Monday on Honey Shelf

The week, sorted before the first coffee.

It’s Monday, 9 a.m. Honey Shelf flagged two SKUs over the weekend, drafted both production orders, and listed the fabric we’re short. I approve the runs, the POs go out to suppliers, and by 9:15 I know exactly what the factory is doing this week. That used to take me until Wednesday — and three phone calls I dreaded making.
